Geschiedenis
Bij de oprichting van het departement Aisne in 1800 maakte het arrondissement Saint-Quentin deel uit van dat oorspronkelijke departement.
Geografie
Het arrondissement Saint-Quentin ligt in het noordwesten van het departement Aisne. Het grenst in het noorden aan het departement Nord, in het oosten aan het departement Vervins, in het zuiden aan het departement Laon en in het westen aan het departement Somme.
Het arrondissement Saint-Quentin is het kleinste arrondissement van het departement in oppervlakte, 1.071,2 km2 (413,6 sq mi), maar is het tweede in bevolking (130.918 inwoners).
