Eigenschappen
Thallium(I)carbonaat is een witte vaste stof. Het lost op in water. Het is het enige zware metaalcarbonaat dat in water kan oplossen. Het is vergelijkbaar met kaliumcarbonaat. Het is echter zeer giftig. Het reageert met zuren zoals alle carbonaten om een thalliumzout en koolstofdioxide te maken.
Bereiding
Het wordt gemaakt door thallium(I)oxide te laten reageren met koolstofdioxide.
Gebruikt
Het wordt gebruikt om nepdiamanten te maken, om te testen op koolstofdisulfide en om schimmels te doden.
