Nigeria won zijn 2e titel door in de finale Zambia met 2-1 te verslaan. Het Zambiaanse team bestond uit nieuwe spelers omdat de vliegramp met het nationale voetbalteam van Zambia in 1993 een paar maanden eerder had plaatsgevonden.
